What is sleep dentistry?

At Laurel Manor SleepCare, your dental health doesn’t stop with teeth and gums. Our focus is on your health and wellness as a whole.

Sleep plays a critical role in helping the body fight inflammation. Obstructive sleep apnea prevents the body’s natural inflammation-reducing process, which can contribute to serious illness such as heart disease, coronary artery disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, high blood pressure, and depression. Because sleep apnea goes beyond snoring alone, we work with a sleep specialist to carry out a sleep study and identify the best course of treatment for you.

TMD

Issues with your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) may cause a host of painful, limiting symptoms as well as future oral health problems if left untreated. It can also significantly impact your sleep. Therefore, it is crucial to seek help as soon as possible when suffering from temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD).

Bruxism

Bruxism, or grinding your teeth, can rob you of quality sleep and leave your face, head, teeth, and jaw in pain. Treatment of bruxism requires a plan that is individually tailored to meet your specific needs. The dental specialists at Laurel Manor SleepCare are expertly trained in understanding, treating, and preventing teeth grinding.

Sleep Apnea

Get help for your sleep apnea and snoring problems and finally get restorative sleep. Most people find that their quality of life improves significantly once they find an effective treatment option for obstructive sleep apnea.
